The Skinny Jean Rebellion

Valerie Comment

I decided I am getting a little tired of skinny jeans. They are everywhere. Usually tucked into tall brown boots this time of year. And while it's a cute look, it's mostly all you see anymore. I have skinny jeans and I wear them, but I think it's time for something fresh.

A few weeks ago, I pulled out my boot cut jeans and cut along the very bottoms to make fringed ends and I love how they turned out.  I posted the picture on Instagram. It was the first step in my skinny jean rebellion. Then last week, I took four sweet young ladies thrift shopping and while shopping I found a great pair of flare jeans. The second step in my freedom from the skinny jean rut.

I reinvented two pair of bootcut jeans I already had and only spent $3.00 on the flare jeans. That means three 'new' pair of jeans for only $3.00. Well, unless you consider what I paid for the two boot cut jeans in the first place, but that's not as fun as thinking that I have three pair of jeans for $3.00, so let's stick with that.

I feel like such a rebel.

Jeans: thrifted from a new thrift store the girls and i tried. I forgot to get the name of it, but I will find out and let you know soon.  Turtleneck: from some cool store in St. Louis, MO, I can't remember the name of it because it was six years ago.  Hat: thrifted from Goodwill

It was so windy the day my son Will took these photos. Those wide leg jeans were flying in the wind.
