I put an outfit together with a couple of the gems I picked up at the Florida thrift stores. I don't have a lot of money to spend on clothes. In fact, I don't want to spend a lot of money on clothes. I think thrifting is cool because it makes me be more unique and creative with my style. I enjoy mixing textures and adding something unexpected. Are there rules in fashion? Well, if so then I'm a rebel cause Imma wear what I want (kinda like I'm too old to say "Imma"). Here's the thing...it's a matter of personal preference. I don't really like wearing nail polish at my age, but I have friends that wear nail polish all the time and it looks lovely. *Forget about it. I wear sneakers with dresses and skirts and I have friends that would never do that. *Forget about it. I have a really good friend of mine who has fabulous style. She wears polyester a lot. In fact, it may very well be her signature fabric. *Forget about it. She looks stunning in poly! (Imma do a "Friends With Style" post on her soon so you can see how amazing she is!)
Wear what you like without fear. And if someone comes up to you and asks a question like, "Aren't you too old to wear sneakers with a dress?" Smile at them and *forget about it!
*"Forget about it" reference from Napoleon Dynamite. "Take a look at what I'm wearing, people. You think anybody wants a roundhouse kick to the face while I'm wearing these bad boys? Forget about it."
