I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We enjoyed our day with family. We had brunch in the morning with my parents and they gave our kids a most exciting gift...cereal. The kids were thrilled! No lie. Several months ago we decided to eliminate cereal from our house and have alternatives such as pancakes, oatmeal, granola and yogurt, etc. The kids have told me they don't miss cereal that much, but miss the convenience of it. However, there was much rejoicing upon receiving that present!
We won't start buying cereal again, though. I am too in love with what I did with the cabinets that used to have cereal in them, that I can never go back. Sorry, kids. You can talk about it with your therapist when you're an adult.
In the evening of Christmas Day we went over to my parents' and enjoyed my dad's incredible cooking. We spent the evening with my parents, my brother-in-law, and my nephew and nieces. There is always an ache in our hearts at Christmas from the absence of loved ones. My sister who passed away almost 13 years ago, and my brother and sister who live in Wisconsin. And this year we missed having Grandma for the first Christmas. But we celebrate this precious time together and are thankful for the memories of the past.
My nieces and I all wore something thrifted to our gathering because we are a thrifty family. And they all looked gorgeous in their thrifted attire! Family with style.
